ULU RIDDIM — Afro & Amapiano at Hatch Uluwatu

Ulu Riddim is Hatch Uluwatu’s weekly Afro and amapiano night, running every Monday from 5:00 PM until 2:00 AM on the Bukit peninsula. It brings a sunset-to-late session of African and diaspora dance music to one of Uluwatu’s most characterful small venues.

The sound is a fusion of Afrobeats, amapiano and baile funk, held down by resident DJ B455 with guest selectors dropping in. Starting at 5:00 PM, it works as both a golden-hour hang and a proper late party — the kind of unhurried, groove-led night that suits Uluwatu’s laid-back crowd.

Hatch calls itself a jungle playhouse, and it is exactly that: a smaller, more underground room than the big Bukit cliff clubs, tucked into the greenery off Jl. Labuansait in Pecatu. It gives Uluwatu a genuine alternative to the large-scale beach and cliff venues, with a friendlier, more inclusive feel.

Because Ulu Riddim runs every Monday, you can plan around it on any week of your stay. It sits in the heart of the Uluwatu surf-and-nightlife strip, an easy ride from Bingin, Padang Padang and the Pecatu villas, with taxis and scooters the simplest way home late.

Come for the early part if you want the relaxed, sundown atmosphere, or arrive later for the peak of the dancefloor. It is an easygoing, dress-as-you-are night, so there is no need to plan much beyond getting yourself to the Bukit for the start of the week.
