Pagerwesi 2026
Pagerwesi — meaning “iron fence” — is a Balinese Hindu holy day dedicated to strengthening spiritual defences against evil. Held four days after Saraswati Day, it symbolises the fortification of the mind and spirit. Temple ceremonies and offerings are made island-wide. Though less well-known to tourists than Nyepi or Galungan, Pagerwesi is deeply meaningful to the Balinese and offers an authentic glimpse into everyday spiritual life on the island.
