Ogoh-Ogoh Parade 2026
On the eve of Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence, villages across the island parade enormous handcrafted effigies called Ogoh-Ogoh through the streets. These giant demon figures — built over months by local youth groups — symbolise negative spirits. The parade culminates in the burning of the effigies, a powerful purification ritual to cleanse the island ahead of Nyepi. Arrive early to claim a good spot along the main roads; expect loud gamelan music, fire, and massive crowds. A truly unmissable cultural experience.
