Ubud Writers and Readers Festival: 20th Anniversary

Embracing the themes of past, present and future, the 20th anniversary of the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival (UWRF) is returning this October. This year’s theme is inspired by the Balinese concept of Tri Semaya. This is a perspective of time being non-linear, circular and collective. It places an importance on the balance of harmony within one’s self, as well as beyond the time and space of individuality. For two decades, the festival has been supporting and providing a platform for emerging as well as established writers, artists, intellectuals, scholars and public speakers to share their views and work with the world. Dedicating efforts towards developing reading and writing education in Indonesia and promoting global literacy, UWRF is yet another inspiring and unforgettable event in Bali that should not be missed.
