Ayam Goreng

Ayam Goreng is everyone’s favorite dish. Many region in Indonesia call Ayam Goreng with rice and vegetlable in different name, example in Bali it called Lalapan Ayam, in Jakarta it called Pecel Ayam, and in Banyuwangi it called Nasi Tempong Ayam.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken
  • 3 centimeter of galangal
  • 1 centimeter of turmeric
  • 3 shallots
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 spoon coriander seeds
  • 3 tablespoon salt
  • 2 pieces of lemongrass
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 200 ml cooking oil

How to Cook

Clean the chickenĀ

Ground the garlic, shallots, coriander seeds, turmeric, and galangal with a mortar and pestle. Smash the lemongrass.

Place the chicken grounded spices, bay leaves, water, and lemongrass in the pan and stir.

Add salt for flavor.

Cook the chicken for 15 minutes and drain.

Fry the chicken untill golden brown.

Ayam Goreng is ready to serve.

Ayam goreng is best to serve with warm rice, Thai basil, cabbage, and sambal.
