Ingredients

  • 1 medium-size tilapia fish
  • 5 shallots
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 3 chilies
  • 4 big red chilies
  • 3 cm ginger
  • 2cm aromatic ginger
  • 4 cm galangal
  • 3 cm turmeric
  • 2 candlenuts
  • half teaspoon of shrimp paste
  • 1 lime
  • half teaspoon of white pepper
  • half teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon bouillon powder
  • 30 ml cooking oil
  • 250 ml water

How to Cook

Clean the fish and then marinate the fish with lime for 5 minutes.

Place shallots, garlic, chilies, big red chilies, ginger, aromatic ginger, galangal, turmeric, candlenuts, shrimp paste, and white pepper in a food processor and process into a paste.

Heat cooking oil in the pan, and add the spices paste, bay leaves, salt, and bouillon powder. stir for 10 minutes.

Add the fish into the pan and add water.

Cook the fish for 20 – 25 minutes.
