Profile
One of the interesting at the same time educative sights you need to visit while in Bali is Turtle Conservation And Education Center (TCEC) in Serangan, South Denpasar City.
Supported by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), The Provincial Nature Resource Conservation Agency, Bali’s municipality authorities and the local community, TCEC aims to eradicate illegal turtle trading on the island. The center is rescuing and rehabilitating endangered turtles and then releasing the turtles back to the sea.
The conservation center is open for public visits without charging any fees. Inside, you will be guided by a staff who will walk you around the educative boards while explaining the extinction risk of turtles, then accompany you roaming around pools, tubs and tanks where rescue turtles are in.
If you would like to participate in helping preserve these rescue turtles, you may donate to the center, or buying some souvenirs the center sells in their shop, or by adopting a turtle to then release them out to the sea.
