Sate Lilit

Sate Lilit is originally from Klungkung Bali. This dish is used to serve only for the Hindu ceremony, due to the demand now Sate Lilit can be found anywhere in Bali and every day.

Ingredients

  • 250 gram minced tuna
  • 30-gram shredded coconut
  • 30 ml coconut milk
  • 3 kaffir lime leaves
  • 3 chilies
  • 4 shallots
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 candlenuts
  • 1 lime
  • 1 cm galangal
  • 1 cm ginger
  • 1 cm aromatic ginger
  • 1 cm turmeric
  • half teaspoon of coriander seeds
  • half teaspoon of white pepper
  • half teaspoon of palm sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of bouillon powder
  • Lemongrass

How to Cook

Place kaffir lime leaves, chilies, shallots, garlic, candlenuts, galangal, ginger, aromatic ginger, turmeric, coriander seeds, and white pepper in a food processor and process into a paste.

Mix minched tuna, coconut shredded, lime juice, and spices paste.

Add salt, palm sugar and bouillon powder for the flavor.

scoop the mixture tuna and mold it to lemongrass skrewers

Grill the tuna mixture till well done cooked.

Sate lilit is ready to serve.

Mince tuna can be replaced with chicken or pork and can replace lemongrass with bamboo for the skewer stick. This dish is best to serve with rice and sambal matah
