Babi Rica Rica
This dish is originally from Manado North Sulawesi and this recipe is spicy and delicious.

Ingredients
- 500 grams pork
- bunch of Thai basil
- 7 shallots
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 5 candlenuts
- 5 big red chilies
- 5 chilies
- 3 cm turmeric
- 1 cm ginger
- 2 cm galangal
- 1 tomato
- 1 lemongrass
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons of bouillon powder
- 30 ml cooking oil
- 250 ml water
How to Cook
- Cut the pork into cubes.
- Place shallots, garlic, candlenuts, big red chiles, chilies, turmeric, ginger, and galangal in a food processor and process into a paste.
- Heat cooking oil in the wok, and add the spices paste, and lemongrass. Stir for 10 minutes.
- Add pork, water into the wok and stir.
- Add salt and bouillon powder for the flavor, and stir.
- Cook for 30 – 40 minutes.
- Add Thai basil and tomato. Stir for 5 minutes and turn off the stove.
- Babi Rica Rica is ready to serve.
You can always add more chilies for the spiciness.
