Klepon tastes like mochi with palm sugar inside, this is one of the popular snacks/desserts in Bali and Java and you can easily find it in the street food vendor in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 300 grams glutinous rice flour
  • 150 grams rice flour
  • 4 pandan leaves
  • 200 grams palm sugar
  • 300 grams shreded coconut
  • salt
  • 900 ml water

How to Cook

Boil 200 ml water, add pandan leaves. Cook for 15 minutes.

Mix glutinous rice flour, rice flour, 2 pinches of salt, and pandan water.

Shape dough with hands into evenly sized balls, and add half a teaspoon of palm sugar inside the dough.

Boil the dough with water till the balls float and then drain.

Mix shredded coconut with half a teaspoon of salt.

Roll over Klepon into shreded coconut.

Klepon is ready to serve.

Pandan leaves can be replaced with pandan paste.
