This side dish is Javanese sambal and sweeter than the normal sambal. It is best to serve with ayam goreng or ikan goreng.

    • 7 Chilies
    • 3 Tomatoes
    • one teaspoon of shrimp paste
    • 5 shallots
    • 2 cloves of Garlic
    • 2 pinch of salt
    • 5 teaspoon of palm sugar
    • 20 ml cooking oil

    How to Cook


    Place chilies, tomatoes, shrimp paste, shallots, garlic, salt, palm sugar in a food processor and process into a paste.


    Heat cooking oil in the pan and add spices paste.


    stir until the water drains.


    Sambal Bajak is ready to serve.

    Sambal Bajak can be stored in the refrigerator for a week.
