Ingredients

  • Bunch of kangkung
  • 1 handful melinjo leaves
  • 2 pieces of corn
  • 50 grams peanuts
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • 2 red chilli
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons royco
  • 1 teaspoon palm sugar
  • 1 teaspoon tamarind
  • 500 ml water

How to Cook

Clean the kangkung and cut them in 5 centimeter.

Pound shallots, garlic, shrimp paste, red chilli with mortar and pestle.

Boil the water, add the pounded spices, tamarind, corn, and peanuts.

Add salt, royco, palm sugar for the flavor.

After the corn is cooked add kangkung and melinjo leaves.

Stir for 1 minute and sayur asam is ready to serve.
